Measures, robot apart, formulas, and a bridge

Today, we are measuring this wood with a ruler.
We wrote 5 different dimensions used to measure things.

We put 7 things of how to measure it.

Prof. Mason wants us to dismantle our robots to put them back in the box.

After our break, we tried to solve the formula of the units for modulus of elasticity and the other is the heat transfer rate q.
He asked us to guess of how big is in this classroom.

We estimate the difference of a sumo wrestler and a model of their foot. To see the difference
of density and surface. We choose sumo wrestler because the force is so much density.

We think of something that relates a 6 in., so we chose subway sandwich for an example.

 We measure the soda can.

We measure the volume of the can was 374 cm3, and it was overestimate of -30 cm3

He was testing the same result by filling the water.

Our next activity was to build a bridge with 30 pieces of spaghetti and 2 hot glue to design and fabricate a bridge that can span 8" and hold 100 kg mass to 700 kg mass.

First test: 100 Kg

Second test: 300 kg
Third test: 500 kg
Others did not pass it.
Fourth test: 600 kg
Some of them have made it.
Fifth test: 700 kg
My group have made a good process.
Final test: 1,000 kg

We completed the bridge, but it snap at the moment; however, we made a record.

Race 3: anonymous and final robot race

Hey folks, today we are having a robot race. Unfortunately, my team the Claw Burr is not coming for

the race due to the shortage of players, so I moved to the other team in Big Bertha.

However, I moved to another team again because a team member from Big Bertha has arrived,  and

I went to team Mean Machine.

Our first task was to program to joystick of  up and down. Sadly, I am not very good to the controls

because I need more practice.

Second, team Mean Machine program to a anonymous system by running 1 lap and in 20 sec. we

drive.

My team is picking-up the pace but the other two are still in the lead.

Third, we program Mean Machine by driving one joystick while holding the button. Our task was to

drive around and grab the cone with the claw, then while inside the box we release it to let the

anonymous do the work and let it drop the cone into the X mark.

In the final round, four robots entered and let the first anonymous goes around in one lap, second we

drive three laps and my team do four laps. The problem is that the driver must pass over to the other

while holding the button. It was difficult but my team manage to pull it off.

At the end of the race, the results are finished. Team Big Bertha and Trans-child are tied, Mean

Machine was in third place as usual, and Bender was in last place.

Now that the race is over, and it is time that the robots are shut down because the lectures are coming

next week. So see you later on next Wednesday.

Race 2, tag-team bottle challege, and command

Today, everyone have made their own interview about engineer. Some of us have no I idea.

Next, we have a race with our robots again. My team is still holding of our title. We won the first

round. The second round we team-up with our Claw Burr and the members from Futurama, Team

Bender. The challenge was to grab the bottle to go around (grabbers) and pass it to the other

(footers),  to place it to the zone for three laps. Final round was to command our robots into the

motor; however, my team had some problems. As the result, the first place made a perfect record was

Big Bertna, our team is in second place along with Transchild, third place was OG Nugget , fourth

place was Bender, and last place goes to Mean Machine.

After finishing our robots, we head to the robot club to see of their developments and head right back

to class.

Evaluate resume and build robotic

Yesterday, Prof. Mason shows us about the resume, which he wants us to print, so he can evaluate the content.

Next, we build robots, and we race with other competitors. Our robots name is Crowbar, and we are the top players.

Midterm and resume

Today we are having a midterm this morning. It requires pen for writing the answers and pencil &

ruler for the drawing, and use calculator as well.

After a exhausted from the midterm, the professor introduce a lady who talks about resume for a job.

It explains of how to create a resume through your experience and work history. There are rules that

you can & cannot of a resume because of the process.

After she finish her speech in one hour, my group wrote three things of tips for the resume because it

is to remind us of what we heard from her.
